We continue to actively monitor and adapt to the changing Novel Coronavirus.  Our community has been through a lot over the year, and we all look forward to returning to a new kind of normal.  While many things have changed, one thing remains the same: our commitment to your health and safety.

Our schedule has been modified to allow for greater social distancing.  We ask that you wait in your car and call or text us upon arrival.  We are allowing an hour between patients in each operatory to allow for complete disinfection before your appointment.  You will see lots of changes in our office and in us.  You won’t even recognize us!

INFECTION CONTROL:  Our office has always abided by recommendations from the American Dental Association (ADA), the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  We also have an independent agency who audits our systems annually and provides recommendations during a day of training for doctors and staff.  In many instances, we go above and beyond their recommendations.

HYPOCHLOROUS ACID FOGGING: HOCL is a powerful oxidant that is 100 times more efficient than bleach in killing microbial pathogens.  It has been used to clean fruits and vegetables for years and is a safe and effective way to kill the Coronavirus on surfaces, and more importantly, in the air.  We fog each operatory with hypochlorous acid between each patient before starting our other infection control procedures. 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: You won’t even recognize us in all our PPE!  Face masks, face shields, surgical hair bonnetts, scrub jackets and aprons, surgical gowns, and personal air purifying respirators are completely changed out, sterilized, or discarded after every patient.  Please be patient as we do our best to change our clothes, don and doff our PPE, and wash up before we see you.

UV LIGHT STERILIZATION: We have 3 separate steam sterilization systems that we use to sterilize instruments after they are cleaned in a chemical ultrasonic bath.  Additionally, we’ve added two large UV light boxes that can sterilize some of our PPE, credit card terminals, pens, and any other small equipment that you might come in contact with.

EXTRA ORAL SUCTIONS: Our hygienists have always had assistants to make your cleanings and exams more comfortable.  Our assistants now hold a suction in each hand in order to capture aerosols produced.  In addition, we have invested in extra oral suction units for each operatory which clean, filter, and uv sterilize droplets and aerosols captured.

AIR PURIFICATION UNITS:  Spread throughout the office and in each operatory we have true HEPA 5 stage air purifiers.  These have the ability to scrub all of the air in the office every 15 minutes.
